Product Summary

Reliable, single-phase, 100% copper-wound, brushless NorthStar® generator head for years of long lasting power. 6.5-gallon tank has fuel gauge. Industrial engine has low Oil Alert™ shutdown protection and cast iron sleeve. NorthStar's V-mounts are designed to extend life by dampening and isolating engine vibration. The interlocking V-mounts have a rubber isolation mount made with a specially formulated vibration dampening elastomer that provides optimal flexibility and stiffness and interlocking brackets that protect the rubber mounts. This interlocking design allows NorthStar to use softer rubber, resulting in a smooth-running engine. Frame constructed from ERW hot-rolled steel tubing. The solid base provides a strong foundation for the generator and extends life by serving as a barrier between the ground and the generator. This prevents grass, dirt, dust and other debris from being sucked into the engine and the alternator. Not for sale in California.

    1. At this time, we do not offer this generator in a propane version, we also do not have a propane conversion kit for this generator.

    Does the honda GX390 13 hp engine on this generator have a 12 volt power supply wire I can wire in a digital service hour meter?

  4. Aviation Fuel

    I just bought this generator. Is it OK to use aviation fuel in this generator? I plan on using this generator as a back-up for power outage and it may sit with fuel in the tank for extended periods. I have been told that Aviation fuel does not go bad so thought this may be a good option.

    1. The generator can not be used with aviation fuel due to the the high octane level which can ruin the engine.

    1. Yes, on average a 15000 btu A/C unit will require approximately 2800 peak watts and 2000 running watts.

  6. Otput voltage fluctuates between 106.0 & 107.0

    my portable genetator Item# is 165914, voltage needs to be increades, I have no dealer close by, how do I adjust the AC receptacle output. The 240 Volts output receptacle reads 220 Volts. Please advise. Thank you.

    1. After speaking with a NorthStar expert he advised me that both of voltage readings you are getting are low.

      You are going to want to adjust the engines RPMs while using a hertz meter to accurately set the engine/generator at no load (no appliances attached.)

      Follow these few steps with two people, one person using the hertz meter and one person tightening the screw...

      There is a screw below the air box on the engine with a spring attached, using a phillips head screw driver and a hertz meter, slowly turn the screw clockwise until you get a reading of 63 hertz, this should put your generator at the optimum power.
