Will the heater start automatically when the temperature drops below the thermostat setting on the heater.
-
bacon8tor· 9 years ago
Yes. It's not a thermostat where you choose the temperature though - just a choice between level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (1 is low, 5 is hot). If you want a low heat set it on 1, it'll heat up to that temp (factory set) and then turn itself off, and when the temp drops back down it turns back on automatically.

pilot light usage
hoe much gas doe the pilot light use if you let it on all the time
-
PaxTerra· 7 years ago
Uses so little that you will not notice any difference.

ProductExpert6· 7 years ago
Mr. Heater does not have a rating on how much propane just the pilot light would use if left on. It will use 1.4 pounds or 0.33 gallons per hour on the high setting or under 1 pound if on low setting.

You sy this heater will produce a "minimal amount" of carbon monoxide. Will this keep setting off my carbon monoxide detector if it's in the same room
-
PaxTerra· 7 years ago
I installed this and then setup a digital CO2 detector that has a digital readout. In operation for a 2 day period of temps in the teens, I never noticed the detector showing above "zero".

-
ProductExpert40· 7 years ago
This heater should not set off your carbon monoxide detector.

Doesn't this heater produce any carbon monoxide? It concerns me since it is not vented.
-
PaxTerra· 7 years ago
It burns clean meaning very little CO2 but it also has an oxygen sensor that will shut it off if the O2 level goes down at all.

ProductExpert11· 7 years ago
This heater will produce very minimal amounts of carbon monoxide. The amount produced falls well within the indoor air quality guidelines set by regulatory agencies. This heater is also equipped with an oxygen depletion sensor. This ensures the heater is operating as expected. If not, this sensor will shut the heater down if the air quality in the room/area drops below safe levels.

Vent-Free Is allowed thru what means?
I previously thought L.P. heaters had to be vented ?
-
ProductExpert25· 10 years ago
These heaters use oxygen from the room. It is recommended to use the heater only in well ventilated areas and not in a confined space. The minimum ventilation requirement is 1 square inch of ventilation per 1000 BTU's. A 30,000 BTU heater would require 30 square inches of ventilation. Refer to the Operating Instructions for the correct heater for the room being heated.
Helpful?
-
Mr. Heater Product Expert· 10 years ago
There is no hard venting required for this heater, but, like any of our heaters that are used indoors, we have a minimum ventilation requirement of 1 square inch per 1000 BTU's. So in the case of a 30,000 BTU's it would require 30 square inches of ventilation.
