can you use the black diamond abrasive with the allsource abrasive blaster

Yes. For heavy blasting. It will leave a rough, "frosted" finish on mild steel. So use it based on what you are cleaning. You can adjust your pressure lower to limit the amount of roughness, or use a finer/lighter abrasive.

what kind of blasting abrasive do you use to remove light rust and paint from a automobile?

You'll want to use a light weight abrasive and start with a lower air pressure. You don't want to get to heavy on a car body. It can warp the metal, and a heavy sand will leave a rough finish. Soda or a specialty abrasive would be best for you.

Aluminum oxide would be the best choice for removing rust and paint from a vehicle. It is a softer media and less harsh on the metal.

Will it strip varnish off wood

The pressure blaster can be used to remove varnish, paint and stain from wood. The recommended media to use for this application in the blaster will be glass bead.

can I use silica sand with this blaster

The blaster is capable of using silica sand as a medium but not recommended due to health reasons and may even be illegal especially if being used in a work place.
