Product Summary

Glass beads are manufactured from lead-free, soda lime-type glass, containing no free silica. Glass bead blasting produces a clean, bright, satin finish, without dimensional change of the parts. Glass beads are primarily used in blasting cabinets for honing, polishing, peening, blending, finishing, removing light burrs and cleaning light foreign matter. Is also widely used for glass etching projects where a smooth finish is desired. For delicate thin-walled parts and thin welds, peening with glass bead abrasive material provides the right balance of stress relief without over-stressing and causing damage. Glass bead can be reclaimed and is most likely to be used in a blast cabinet. Best uses: paint coating removal, surface preparation, removes carbon, rust, and corrosion from aluminum and steel and glass etching. A light, low-dust abrasive. U.S.A.

  1. Will this work to clean copper stains from shower tile and mineral deposits from pool tile?

    1. Yes, but depending on the stone and stone it could possibly strip the outer layer of the stone or tile itself. Be easy with it.

  2. What size ceramic nozzle would you suggest?

    We use a ALC SANDYJET Portable Pressure F-110DM Deadman Blaster, What size ceramic nozzle would you suggest ?

    1. That totalaly depends on the cfm of your machine and what you're trying to do. The size of the grit needs to be taken into consideration as well. You can do a quick google search for cfm and nozzle sizes and some charts will pull up to better help you.

    2. The 1/8" ceramic nozzle would work just fine for the glass bead with your unit.

  3. After use, does this material require any preparation prior to painting?

    1. The glass bead will leave a satin finish after removing the old paint. You would then be ready to start repainting with no other preparation necessary.
