The ALC® Polymer Floor Model Abrasive Blast Cabinet is perfect for a wide variety of surface preparation jobs such as removing paint, scale, rust and oxidation. Made of tough LDPE polymer plastic that is designed to outlast steel blasting cabinets and will not leak. One-piece construction means there are no seams to leak, keeping the blasting operation contained inside the cabinet. Inside work area of 35in.W x 23in.H x 23in.D to accommodate a large variety of items. Includes trigger-controlled blast gun with 1/4in. nozzle, 24in. rubber blast gloves and protective window underlay. Simply add abrasive and hook up to an air supply and you are ready to blast. 50-lb. grate capacity. Some assembly required.

  1. How many 25lb pails of media does it take to fill this unit for initial use?

    1. I think that it should take about 40-50 lbs.

    2. The Sandy Jet Blasting Cabinet would be able to fit 25 to 50lbs(1-2 pails), depending on which media you are using. For example, 50lbs of sand may take up the same amount of space as 25lbs of a larger medium.

  5. What size air compressor do you need to support a blaster like this?

    1. I used 2-8 scfm compressors in tandem, which is adequate. However, the volume reqired depends on the valve setting and the oriface diameter of the nozzle. Nozzle diameter selection is dependant on media grit size.

    2. For this blaster to run you need a air compressor that puts out at least 15 CFM (cubic feet per minute) at 80 PSI (pounds square inch).

  6. Is this unit made to accept a shop vac for dust control

    1. There is a hole in the rear and comes with a screen over it. I see that as an air intake, but I bolted a shop vac fitting to it. I just leave the side door cracked to let air in.

    1. The depth of the hopper from the bottom to the grate is 24.5" high. The hopper has a capacity of 50-100 lbs. of media depending on what is used.
