    Looking at ordering the 10 cir emergency transfer switch for a new construction. Ref the item above, powet inlet, which comes with the system. Does the kit come with parts to allow thru wall installation?

    1. The power inlet box is designed to accept a wire size range of 10 AWG to 8 AWG maximum.

    1. The power inlet box is covered and could be plugged into in bad weather. The generator should not be run in bad weather without being protected. It would require some sort of cover to protect it.

  5. IS THIS RAINTIGHT WHEN IN USE OR DOES IT NEED A COVER SHIELD? IF IT DOES NEED A SHIELD HOW WOULD I GET ONE?

    1. This power inlet box is NEMA 3R rated for outdoor use. It has weatherproof gaskets to keep water and elements out. A cover is not required.

  7. Generator watts question

    My generator specs says it allows for "RUNNING WATTS" of 7000, and "PEAK WATTS" of 8750.
    Will it be safe to hook it up to this Power Inlet Box, and will it work, if I manage what I am allowing to be powered on, in an attempt to keep my current peak watts below the 7500 rating of this box?

    1. As long as your generator produces less than 30 amps this inlet box would work for your generator.

  9. What are the 4 Prongs for?

    Hi, I have a question regarding the reason for the four prongs? Does this imply that two seperate 30A lines can be run through this cable? What gauge is each wire?
    Is this a 10/4 configuration?

    1. The box needs to be connected to a 30 amp, 4 receptacle plug (NEMA L14-30). It is designed for 30 amps. The inlet box would need to be hardwired to a transfer switch by a qualified electrician.
