This sturdy RDS Aluminum Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo is DOT Approved for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. This aluminum fuel tank does not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents.

    1. The overall dimensions are 48" L x 20" W x 12 3/4 H. The dimension of toolbox only is 41" L x 20" W x 6 1/4" H.

  4. So this auxiliary transfer tank can be used for gasoline. Can you hook it up so it transfer to the trucks gas tank?

    1. It is not recommended to be used for gasoline auxiliary. This application is for diesel only.

  5. Can you install an in cab fuel gauge for this tank? If so what type?

    1. You would be able to install an in cab fuel gauge for the tank. You would need to install a sending unit on the tank and a separate gauge in the cab an route the sending unit to the inside gauge.

    1. The fuel transfer tank and toolbox can be set up with the correct auxiliary kit for your vehicle to gravity feed to the vehicles fuel tank. See our auxiliary diesel transfer kits, item #3490901, #3490902 and #43748.

  9. What bolts are recommended for installing?

    1. The manufacturer includes mounting hardware with this. The mounting bolts are 1/4" diameter and 2-1/2" long. Bolt holes will need to be drilled into the tabs and truck bed to mount.
