Product Summary

The RDS Vertical Fuel Transfer Tank is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents. Note: This smooth mil finished tank may have some scratch marks, which is normal and unavoidable with this finish type.

  4. Tank Installation

    Can this tank be installed over my bed liner or must it be directly on the bed of the truck as described in the instructions? I will have to cut away the edges of the liner at the two end installation angles but I'd rather not cut out the entire liner at the tank if possible.

  5. does Northern Tool sell a fuel gauge sending unit for this tank?

    1. A sending unit is not available for this tank. An auxiliary conversion kit can be installed for gravity feed transfer of diesel fuel into your truck's existing fuel system. Please see our item #3490901, #3490902, or #43748 for auxiliary conversion kits that can be used.

  8. Fuel transfer

    I am looking to increase my trucks range of travel between fueling. I may have missed it in the details, but I was wondering if this tank comes with an option to connect to existing tank for auto refueling. Or is there only an external pump to perform manuel fueling.

    1. This tank will have a 3/8" drain that can be used to connect an auxiliary kit for gravity feed transfer of diesel fuel into your truck's existing tank. Please see our item #3490901, #3490902, or #43748 for auxiliary conversion kits that can be used.

    1. This RDS vertical fuel transfer tank meets federal DOT standards for the transport of diesel, gasoline, or aviation fuel. The unit itself can be shipped to California by Northern Tool, however it is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state, and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading, and discharging tank contents.
