The reservoir features a single breather port positioned at one end, limiting its use to horizontal installations only. Additionally, the internal plumbing includes a 90-degree elbow, which positions the inlet filter at the bottom of the reservoir when mounted horizontally.

does this unit accept a return line from the top of the ram that connects to the pump and to the reservoir like the old Monarch M-303?
1 answer-
NorTracExpert12· 2 years ago
This power unit does not have a vent port for the rod end of the cylinder. The hydraulic circuit is designed so the fluid exits and returns through the P port on the side of the unit. There is a cavity plug provided with the unit to allow the addition of an external valve to power the cylinder in both directions.
Please reference the Additional Product Info download on the web page located below the product summary. Solenoid valve #10 on the drawing is removed and #11, the 2-way plug, is installed where the solenoid valve was removed. The P port on the side will be the pressure port and the port in the center of the 2-way plug is the T port (return to tank port).Helpful?

What is the purpose of the solenoid valve?
Should the solenoid Valve release the pressure back into the tank, like the manual release valve does?
1 answer-
NorTracExpert10· 7 years ago
The solenoid valve is used for the lowering function on a lift-hold-lower application. The pump starts, lift the load up, the pump turns off and holds on the solenoid. Then to lower the vertically lifted load, energize the 24-volt coil on the solenoid valve to lower the cylinders back to the normal position. If you would like to have pressure and return ports to the power unit, then the solenoid valve should be removed, the coil and the stem spool are to be removed as well. You would then use the "return port plug adapter" in the box.
