This NorTrac 12 Volt DC Single-Acting Power Unit can be used for OEM or replacement applications. The power up, gravity down circuit allows for fast lifting and lowering. Ideal for use with fork lifts, electric pallet trucks, scissor lift tables, mini lift tables, dump trucks/trailers, or a variety of other applications utilizing remote pendant controls.

    1. The motor does not run during gravity but the battery has to be connected in order for the gravity (solenoid) to work.

  2. What hydraulic fluid is to be used? Is universal hydraulic fluid OK?

    2. This power unit requires AW-32 or less viscosity hydraulic fluid. In cold climates Dextron III ATF should be used and is a good choice for all climates. Tractor hydraulic fluid should not be used at any time.

  3. Where does the return hose connect?

    1. The return hose connects to the T port. When looking at the photo online, this is the closest port on top of the block.

  4. Type of hydrolic fluid?

    1. The recommended hydraulic oil for this power unit is N46. Tractor hydraulic fluid can be used as long as the viscosity is between 15 and 46 cSt (centistokes).

  5. What is the difference between single acting and double acting

    1. Double acting uses hydraulic pressure to move in both directions, up and down. Single acting uses hydraulic pressure to move up and relies on a spring or gravity to return to the original position, down.
