  3. Does a battery need to be used with it? I want to run a small pool pump and am fine with it running only in daylight. Can I just hook the panel to the inverter and plug in the pump to that?

    1. Keep in mind the inverter is a modified sine wave and NOT a pure sine wave! Using a modified sine wave MAY harm your pump.

    2. This system does require a battery for use. The solar panel connects to the charge controller and the charge controller connects to the battery. The power inverter then connects to the battery to provide the AC output.

  4. Are there standoffs or a way to mount the panel so that it can be attached to the side of my house and angled up rather than attaching to the roof?

    1. The kit model # 53110 comes with attachments for roof or wall but can be mounted at any angle using your choice and style of mount kit.

    2. The brackets provided with the solar panel are a Z-type bracket that allows you to mount solar panel flat on a surface. A separate mounting kit would need to be purchased if you are looking to mount the panel at an angle. We do not offer a mounting kit like this in our inventory.

  5. attaching a battery

    Could I attach a UPG Sealed Lead-Acid Battery — AGM-type, 12V, 18 Amps, Model# D5745 so the energy from the solar panel goes to the battery and then connect the inverter to the battery in order to have power day and night?

    1. in this order. Solar panel, charge controller, battery or batteries and then the inverter

    2. You would need to connect a 12 volt battery to the inverter and the charge controller would be connected to the battery and solar panel to keep from over charging the battery.

    1. The Nature Power 53110 110‑Watt Solar Panel Power Kit cannot run a window air conditioner, because the kit only provides about 110 watts of solar input and a 300-watt inverter.

  9. Can this power the overnight recharging of a plug in hybrid vehicle? (Specifically RAV-4 PHEV)

    1. The 110‑watt kit cannot support or recharge a RAV4 PHEV; the vehicle’s charger requires over 1.4 kW while the kit’s inverter is limited to 300 W.
