  1. which is best Amorphous or Crystalline? What is the biggest difference?

    1. Each type has features and benefits that work well in different situations. Amorphous panels will work in shaded areas. In most cases they are portable and used for low wattage needs. Crystalline panels typically do not work well in shaded areas. They have a higher wattage output, usually smaller in size and in some cases need to be permanently mounted.

    2. AMORPHOUS ,WORKS GREAT IN CLOUDY CONDITIONS , ONLY ONE TO BUY.

    3. In Australia they recommend the Crystalline over Amorphous due to the fact that crystalline is more efficient and requires less space (where roof area is limited). In the far north of Australia where heat (closer to equator) is a concern amorphous is recommended.
      It depends on the amount of shade or available sunlight in most areas to determine which to use. The price of crystalline is greater due to the purer forms of silicon used in manufacture. Price enters the picture at the issue.

    4. Crystalline have the highest efficiency rates since they are made out of the highest-grade silicon. For a given amount of power, they take up less space. They also cost more. If the panel is partially blocked by shade, dirt, or snow, the whole circuit may stop producing power.
      Amorphous are cheaper to make. They can be flexible and are less effected by shade or high temperatures. But they require more space. They may produce only 25% of the power crystalline panels produce. They degrade faster and usually have a shorter warranty.

  2. Can you overcharge the battery if left connected?

    Is it possible to overcharge the battery if this particular model of panel is left directly connected without a charge controller?

    1. This solar panel produces up to 0.467 Amps and will charge a battery at a trickle charge rate. The panel would have to be connected to the battery for an overextended period of time to overcharge the battery.

    1. It is possible to permanently mount this solar panel, but it is not designed to be.

    1. It is possible to mount it to a bracket, but does not include one for that application. It can be left outside.
