Can this heater be converted for use with Natural gas?

This heater would not have a conversion kit to Natural gas available. You may purchase a Natural gas model, that will be item number 52559 (see below).

No, this unit does not come with the components needed to install this heater. It can be installed to a 20 lb tank using our hose and regulator assembly (F273072) and the adapter fitting (f276262). However, we do recommend using a larger tank and using hard piping to install this heater, because of it's stationary nature.

Does the thermostat when the room turns to desire temperature? Does it automatically shut off and kick back on when it drops down?

How much propane dos it take to run it on medium or how long would a 5 gallon tank last running contently on medium

The minimum recommend tank size is 20 pounds. The consumption rate of this heater is 0.84 pounds of propane per hour. This heater is thermostatically controlled and does not have a Low/Medium/High setting. The actual run time will vary depending on temperature setting, ambient temperature, and the level of insulation in the room.
