The main difference is the glass front panel, versus the metal front panel. Interior models have a glass front that is more appealing to see the blue flame. Glass front units are not recommended for garage use.

1/2 psi natural gas regulator?
In the product manual it says psi must be equal to or less than 1/2 psi. Where do you find a regulator for natural gas? All I find is for LP.

This regulator would be installed by your nature gas company, to reiterate, there must be an inlet gas pressure between a 9" and 14" water column, the 1/2 psi is standard for any low pressure device.

The 1/2 psi, or 13.85 inches of water, mentioned in the manual for this Natural Gas Mr. Heater Vent-Free Blue Flame Garage/Workshop Wall Heater pertains to pressure testing only. The inlet gas pressure needs to be between 9 and 14 inches of water. Your natural gas installer would provide the regulator for your system. Northern Tool + Equipment does not carry this type of regulator.

Can it be adjusted to work above 4500' elevation?

This heater is not capable of being converted to run off of LP gas, however we do offer this heater in LP. The item # is 255839. Please see below.

Is 30,000 BTU enough for 2 car garage?
My research indicates 45,000 BTU is recommended for 2 car garage. Assuming in NorthEast US, I'm wondering if the 30K unit will take a long time to heat up garage. Wonder why Mr Heater does make a larger say 40K unit. Hate to install gas piping then find it is inadequate.

As to how long this 30,000 BTU heater will take to heat a 2 car garage, that depends on several factors: how high the ceiling is, how well insulated the garage is, and how cold ii is outside. For example, if you heating a garage when the outside temperature is -20 degrees Fahrenheit it takes longer than if the outside temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit above zero. It also depends on if you need to heat the garage enough to take the chill off (50 degrees or so) or to a higher temperature (60-70 degrees). So the heating time will vary depending on these various factors and conditions. Northern Tool carries a 40,000 BTU heater that requires ceilings of 12 to 15 feet high.
