Easy to Use — Ready for Action
Ready to Use Right Out of the Box
This complete welding package makes it easy for you to dive right into the fast, clean world of flux core welding. The ready-to-go package includes a welder with 6ft. cord, hardwired ground clamp with 6ft. cable, hardwired flux core gun with 6ft. cable, 8in. spool adapter, 2 Tweco-style contact tips and a chipping hammer/wire brush.
Performance You Can Depend On
This Ironton Flux Core 125 welder welds 18-gauge mild steel up to 3/16in. thick. Need to weld even thicker materials? You can take care of that, too, by using multiple passes. This welder will accommodate 0.030in. or 0.035in. dia. welding wire in either 4in. or 8in. spools — an 8in. adapter is included.
Settings that Put You in Control
Avoid the hassles of constantly adjusting voltage. This welder makes it easy with two voltage settings for versatility and infinite wire speed control for flexibility in working with different materials.
Handy Onboard Settings Guidance
A quick setup guide is located right on the door of the welder, offering easy reference to the preferred settings and other tips you'll appreciate to help you get your project started on the right foot.
Use It Anywhere
Performance on the Go
You can't always bring your project to your welder, so the Flux Core 125 is designed to perform where and when you need it. It weighs in at just 31 lbs. with a convenient carrying handle, making it easy to bring this welder right where it is needed. You'll appreciate the freedom and flexibility that this welder provides.
Around the House or in the Shop
No special wiring required — from workshop to basement to garage, the Flux Core 125 plugs right into any standard 115V/20 Amp outlet to help you get going on that next project.
An Indoor or Outdoor Workhorse
This flux core welder is an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor use if you're looking for a solid weld and don't mind cleaning up a little slag when you're finished.
Safety Matters
No Overheating
Whether you're welding on a hot day or trying to complete an extensive welding project, the thermal overload protection ensures that your welder will stay safe no matter how hard you run it. A built-in thermostat prevents the unit from overheating, delaying welding power until the unit has sufficiently cooled.
Arc Control at Your Fingertips
From seasoned pro to newcomer on the welding scene, you'll appreciate the safety and security of a trigger activated arc. No need to worry about an accidental arc flash — when you are ready to weld, simply pull the torch trigger and get started. Trigger activated arc keeps wire “electrically cold” when not welding.
Stays Safely Grounded
To further protect the user against improper usage, the Flux Core 125 requires the ground clamp to be properly secured before the unit will operate. If the ground clamp comes loose, the unit safely and immediately shuts down.
Weld With Confidence
The Ironton Advantage
This Ironton Flux Core 125 Welder features a rugged design and quality construction that's built for lasting performance. To give you extra peace of mind, we stand behind this product with a 1-year limited warranty.

Does this welder require gas?
Not mentioned in description 1
-
adambuddy1· 8 years ago
No. But it does require flux-core wire. The shielding component is within the wire, so regular welding wire won't work

Will It
Is it delicate enough to weld truck exhaust pipes and mufflers?
-
Whitetail55· 9 years ago
Should be perfect probably use lower setting.

-
IrontonExpert11· 9 years ago
The welder is capable of welding steel as thin as 18 gauge. If the exhaust pipes and mufflers you're welding are thinner than that, this welder isn't suitable for the job.

Could I tack weld a couple of thin pieces of stainless steel?
I have a stainless steel air damper on top of my Komodo style grill. The small handle that had two tiny tac welds holding it came loose. Would like to have a small welder anyway, but wondered if I could address this issue with this machine.

I dont think youll have any trouble welding stainless with this welder. it ONLY uses flux core, but i just got done using that to weld some stainless exhaust sections, and it performed well. the welds penetrate nicely (settings: power 1, wire 6). i posted a review of this welder containing pictures of a stainless exhaust tip that i made with it.

This flux-core welder can be used to tack weld stainless steel. Over time the weld itself could rust so keep that in mind.

What size generator will run this unit
-
Ghomer· 9 years ago
if you are using a generator, it must be able to produce 115V at 20A continuously. welders pull a lot of juice when on 115V, so i would not skimp on the generator

IrontonExpert9· 10 years ago
The Ironton Flux Core Welder would require a generator that features a minimum rated wattage of 3,000 watts.
