Windmill Aerators

Windmill Aerators and Accessories

Keep your pond aerated and algae-free with the use of a natural resource – wind! Like their electric counterparts, windmill aerators deliver oxygen into pond water in order to improve clarity, inhibit insect breeding, and maintain a healthy environment for aquatic life. A windmill aeration system requires zero electricity, meaning the only investment made is the initial cost of components. Their off-grid design makes them an excellent solution for aerating remote ponds. In fact, they perform best in remote locations! Placing your windmill aerator in an open, elevated space will result in higher oxygenation. Once installed, maintenance is minimal.

Wind-powered aerators are capable of oxygenating small backyard ponds as well as large bodies of water. They can also be assembled to deliver oxygen to both the top and bottom of the pond. Aside from the windmills themselves, pond owners can also purchase tubing, tube connectors, and air diffusers within Northern Tool’s selection of windmill aerator equipment. One detractor to the use of a windmill aerator is the fact they are rendered useless when wind is not present. This may not be a negative for most pond owners, but if your pond is stocked with koi or other fish that require constant aeration, we highly recommend installing a backup system for uncooperative weather days.
