Two-Post Car Lifts

Tuxedo 2-Post Automotive Lift

If you are a DIYer in your own garage or have a repair shop, automotive lifts are vital to completing every day repairs. The type of repairs you do and the kind of vehicles you work on will impact what you choose. You should also consider how often you'll use the lift, where the equipment will be, and how much space is available. We carry two-post lifts from brands like BendPak and Ideal, with models that lift 18,000 lbs. Two-post lifts are the most popular style for an auto shop because it provides access for nearly all service projects. All two-post lifts have either a clear floor style or a floor plate style design. Equalizer cables and hydraulic lines run across from one column to the other, either at the top of the columns through a conduit (clear floor style) or on the floor under a plate (floor plate style). Most manufacturers have options so you can position the vehicle either way on the lift. Challenger calls this "versymmetric", IDEAL uses "bisymmetric", and BendPak calls it "true-metric". They all mean you can position the vehicle either way, to put the center of gravity as close to the column as possible. Some factors to help differentiate high-quality two-post lifts from average lifts. Better models will have triple telescoping arms allowing for work on wider vehicles. Three-stage arms allow you to adjust the arms for handling most types of vehicles that come through your shop. Features like screw pads allow you to adjust the pad height, but some models only change the height by stacking height adapters. Better brands will have a single-point safety release, as opposed to a two-point safety release system. We carry frame cradle pads, extensions, column extensions, truck adapters and more.
