  1. if axle is straight, what prevents flipping the springs?

    1. I purchased this kit in 2021 and it was a straight tube. No flip kit was needed to mount below leafs.

    2. Although the axle is advertised as straight, this refers to the design and not the actual construction of the axle. The axle will have a very slight bend made into them to produce a slight positive camber at the wheel when unloaded. This is done so when the axle is loaded and flexes, the wheels will be vertical with zero camber. If you flip it over, it will have negative camber when unloaded and even more negative camber when loaded. This will cause the inside of the tires to wear more than the outside and also make the trailer wander.

    1. The threads on the lug nuts are 1/2"-20. The threads are not tapered.

    1. The outer diameter of the axle tube is 1.75". The wall thickness is 0.188" +0.006" / -0.012".

  7. What would be the best or largest tire I could use for this setup?

    1. The axle kit is compatible with any tire/rim assembly with a 5 hole 4.5 inch bolt circle. For example, item number 121277 (ST205/75R-15) 5 hole rim/tire assembly will work with the axle kit.
