Product Summary

The SunStar Heating Products Ceramic Heater is ideal for spot heating or area heating of remote locations, farm buildings, shops, service areas, pump houses or other hard-to-heat spaces, providing both fuel efficiency of radiant heat and installation flexibility (not recommended for car washes). This is a Millivolt Standing Pilot heater and does not require an external power or electricity to operate, so it's great for use during power outages. Requires a 750 Millivolt Thermostat to operate (sold separately). May require the following second stage regulators prior to the heater based on gas supply pressure: A regulator up to 2 PSIG line pressure or a regulator above 2 PSIG line pressure (both sold separately). NOT CERTIFIED OR APPROVED FOR RESIDENTIAL USE. Indoor use only. U.S.A.

NOTE: Please review the detailed Installation Operating Instructions (attached) for other specific installation requirements (gas pressure, ventilation etc.) prior to purchasing the heater.

  • The minimum supply gas pressure is 11.0in. Water Column (WC) and the maximum supply pressure is 14in. WC gas pressure
  • If higher gas pressure is supplied, you will need to install a line pressure regulator (sold separately) to reduce it to less than 14in. WC (or 1/2 PSIG)
  • Supply pressure of 11in. WC is critical and supply pressure less than 11in. WC can affect the operation of the pilot/heater
  • The standing pilot flame can be affected in windy/drafted areas and not recommended in these environments
  • No assembly required
  • Heaters are 100% test-fired prior to shipment

  1. Are there hazardous fumes, and if so, how much ventilation is required?

    1 answer

    1. The heater would require ventilation in the building to provide fresh air for efficient combustion. It would require a minimum ventilation flow of 4 CFM per 1,000 BTU per hour of total installed capacity. Power ventilation is recommended, the minimum vent air flow for this heater would be 400 CFM. Additional info. is listed in the online product manual.

    How many hours run time , full on , in 60# cylinder ? REF: the 26K BTU ceramic heater. SGM3-L1

    1. This product on full output will burn approximately 1 pound of propane an hour. If you are using a 60 pound propane cylinder you can expect it to run for about 60 hours on full output.
