Product Summary

The RDS Rectangular Transfer Fuel Tank is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents. Note: This smooth mil finished tank may have some scratch marks, which is normal and unavoidable with this finish type.

    The picture shows a filler neck and cap, vent, pump coupling, drain plug, withdraw, return and fuel level sender. Are all of these pre drilled and tapped in the tank?

    1. Item 57126, Roughneck 12V Fuel Pump 15 GPM Manual Nozzle, will work with this tank for transferring gasoline.

  5. Can the tank be fasten to my truck bed?

    1. It is suggested to use neoprene strips between the tank and the truck bed. You will drill one 5/16" hole in each tab of the tank and the bed for mounting. Place one bolt in the first hole before drilling remaining holes. This will keep the tank in place while drilling the remaining holes. The recommended bolt size to use will be a 1/4" x 2.5" with a washer, spring washer and lock nut.

  7. Why can’t I use this tank for an auxiliary gas fuel tank?

    1. Diesel install kits such as our item #43748, are gravity feed kits. Gravity feed systems cannot be used for supplying gasoline to a passenger vehicle.

  8. how tall is the tank from the base of the tank to the 12V pump threads, also how tall is the fill tube and cap from the top of the tank?

    1. The tank is 16 1/2" tall. The fill tube and black tube stick up 2 3/4" and the plate where the pump screws in sticks up 1/2".

  10. Do the overall dimensions include the height of the filler neck, if not what is the overall height with the filler neck?

    1. The 16 1/2" height is the tank only. The height including the filler neck would be 19 1/2".
