This RDS Aluminum Fuel Tank/Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4- wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging of tank contents.

  3. Is the listed 19" height accurate for this Model #74026? I'm not concerned about added height of a pump. If it is more than 19" as listed I don't think it will fit my application.

    1. A transfer pump is not included with this model. The unit has a 2in. outlet for a pump to be added.

  5. Anyone know what the height of this is with a low profile fuel pump attached?

    1. The height of the tank to the top of the pump mount is 13-1/4". With a pump like item 360581, which is 10" high, the overall height would be 23-1/4".

    1. The lid would require approximately 1-1 1/2" clearance from the bed rail to open.

  8. Is there a pump that can be purchased so that when attached the total height of pump and tank do not exceed 20 inches?

    1. We would not offer a pump that would keep you at 20" or under for pump and tank height.

  9. why is this tank ok for gasoline and the other RDS tanks are not

    1. This tank is certified by the DOT to carry gasoline because it has transfer fittings on it. A box from RDS with an auxiliary tank function is only rated for diesel fuel because gasoline cannot be gravity fed into your vehicle.

    1. The measurement from the base of the tank to the top of the discharge port is 13-3/4 inches.
