Product Summary

This RDS L Shaped Transfer Fuel Tank is DOT Approved for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. This aluminum fuel tank does not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents.

    1. No it is not but it has baffles built in and does not bulg when full

  3. Does the tank have two 2"npt fittings in the top so that the filler and dispenser can be swapped?

    1. The fuel fill is welded in place and cannot be moved; the manufacturer, RDS, sells a fuel-fill cap and adapter (part number 014347) that can be installed on the other side of the tank in the 2" NPT.

  4. Which side is the filler on with the 9” height towards the rear?

    1. When looking at the front of the L, the filler is on the left side toward the back.

    1. The width of the fuel transfer tank is 48", the back of the tank is 11" depth and 26" high. The lower L of the tank is 48" wide, 23" depth and 9" high.. The overall width would be 32".

  6. What type pump or which pump will work for this tank? Or can I have it wired straight as a fuel aux tank for traveling? And what do I need to get this done please :) ?

    1. Our 12 volt pump item #37906 with a manual nozzle or item #57126 with an automatic shut off nozzle can be used with this tank. It can be set up for use as an auxiliary tank. You would need the auxiliary conversion kit to set it up for that. You will need the one that would be for the model vehicle you have. See item #43748, 3490902 and 3490901.
