This PTO generator is equipped with a voltmeter which will indicate when the generator is operating in the appropriate range. The voltage output and frequency (Hertz or Hz) can be measured by a mid-range multimeter as well to make sure that it is running at the appropriate RPM. Ideally, no load should measure around 62-63 Hz. The voltage needs to be within 10% +/- of 120V or 240V when testing. We do not recommend running this generator at a lower RPM as anything out of this range will put the Hz and volts out of the standard range and could damage the appliances which are connected.

Yes, It has a meter on it, white green and red. Should be anywhere in the green.

The generator has a gauge on it. You just adjust your engine speed until the needle is in the green. I usually adjust my speed a little to the upper end of the green and once I get a load on it is just about in the middle.

Will this work with my 36 HP Kubota L355 SS?
-
NorthstarExpert12· 3 years ago
This PTO generator requires a minimum of 14 HP at 540 RPM to operate as designed. It also requires a minimum operating torque of 101.7 ft.-lbs. The 6-spline input shaft has a 1-3/8" diameter. Please check the specifications of the tractor for compatibility.

The pto on your tractor is 29hp. You could run a much bigger generator if you need to. General rule of thumb is 2hp for every 1 KW of power you want to generate.

120v/240v usage at the same time
So if I understand this correct, I cannot run my 240 volt well pump at the same time as my 120 volt furnace on the 7200 watt model? Is this true of the larger wattage units also?
-
NorthstarExpert12· 3 years ago
The 30 Amp 2-pole circuit breaker will only allow a total maximum of 30 Amps of power. That being said, if 30 Amps is being pulled from the 120/240 outlet, the maximum capacity is reached, and pulling any more power from the 120V outlets would trip the 30 Amp breaker. If only 20 Amps is being pulled from the 120/240V outlet, there are still 10 more Amps available before the 30 Amp breaker would trip. So, it is still possible to pull 10 Amps of power from the 120V outlets in that situation. As long as the maximum amperage is not exceeded, it is possible to use both voltages at the same time. Please check the power requirements of the pump and furnace.

Yes, as long as you are not going over the rated wattage, you can use the 240v outlet at the same time as the 120v outlets.

Can it run on 540 and 1000 pto
Will it run at slower speed on a 1000 pto

NorthstarExpert12· 3 years ago
This PTO generator needs to be run at 540 PTO RPM. Anything out of this range will put the Hz and volts out of the standard range and could damage the connected appliances.

You will not be able to run both the 120/240 volt outlet and the 120 volt outlets at the same time. The 120/240 volt outlet is designated as the maximum power outlet, so once the 120/240 volt outlet is in use the other outlets will not work.

How do you hook up the generator to your house utilities saving electric bills?
1 answer-
NorthstarExpert12· a month ago
This generator is intended for backup power, not as a primary power source. It can supply up to 7,200 watts, which may not be enough to power your entire home. Work with your installing electrician to determine which devices and appliances you want to run during an outage. The electrician can also help identify which circuits and devices can be powered simultaneously without overloading the generator.
