  2. Spray Time Question

    Is the rate of spray adjustable via the pressure control? How long will the 26 gallon tank last? I'm concerned that with a 5.5 GPM pump and a 26 gal tank that it would only last 5 minutes. What am I missing?

    1. The rate of spray IS adjustable via the pressure control knob on the 5.5gpm units. Boom spray calibration tables are included in the owners manual as a guideline, but you should always calibrate your own sprayer system. You are correct that a 26 gallon tank would last about 5 minutes. Keep in mind that at 8.3lbs/gal, 26 gallons of water weighs 216 lbs and the sprayer is 47lbs, so an ATV will be heavily loaded with a full tank and rider. If you need higher capacity, try a towed sprayer, or skid-mounted system in a truck bed.

    2. This sprayer has a regulator, the regulator can control the pressure in the system. If the pressure in the system is reduced, the flow of chemical from the pump is bypassed back to the tank. If the pressure in the system is increased, more flow if forced out the nozzles.
      Yes, the spray rate can be adjusted with the regulator. If there is no restriction in the system (i.e. no spray gun or boom nozzles) the pump would pump 5.5 GPM and empty the tank in under 5 minutes. Also, with the regulator, the bypass fluid helps to keep chemical in the tank moving and flowing which aids mixing in the tank.

  3. can this sprayer handle wettable powders like kaolin clay?

    1. This sprayer is compatible with wettable powders. The pressure regulator recirculates fluid back into the tank. Adjust the knob as needed to keep chemicals thoroughly mixed.

  5. I would like to use this on my side by side. If I put this in the bed of the side by side will the brackets extend over the tailgate to prevent breaking the supports on the gate of my side by side.

    1. The tank mount brackets are 18-11/16" long front to back. It is best to measure the depth of the UTV bed and tailgate to determine if the brackets are long enough to extend beyond the tailgate.

  7. Is the broadcast spray adjustable? If only want to do trails and want it 8 feet wide instead of 40 feet is that possible?

    1. The broadcast nozzles can be adjusted so that it only sprays from the right or left. The nozzles can also be mounted 24" - 48" above the ground. It will not spray as wide at the lower level; however, the spray width cannot be adjusted to 8' wide specifically.

  8. How long of a hose can you use with this pump? The included hose is too short for my needs.

    1. You would be able to double the length of the 15ft hose that is included with the sprayer without loosing any pressure. Anything above that your pressure will start to drop. Please view item # 5000978 for additional hose. That is 3/8 inch x 25 ft clear vinyl tubing.

    1. This sprayer is designed to be connected to the battery of the ATV it is mounted on. An additional battery is not required.
