  1. Can the telescoping pressure wand be used with a hot water pressure washer?

    1. This hot water and steam pressure washer features adjustable temperature for the water. Telescoping wands can be used with this unit provided the temperature of the water is less than the max temperature the wand is rated for. Click the links below to view telescoping wand options.

Yes they can I have the 30ft telescoping wand that I use pretty often with my northstar hot water unit with 3000psi / 4gpm, If you look at the telescoping wand in small print it says it can handle 200degree water. Just make sure you keep a good supply of O-rings since the hot water makes them blow out much faster.

  2. If I hooked this unit in a van with a water tank , would I need too add a water pump too feed this pressure washer ?

    1. The NorthStar Gas Powered Wet Steam & Hot Water Pressure Washer requires a constant input of 5 GPM to work properly. A gravity feed system from a tank may work, as long as it is a constant input, but it may require a water pump. This item is designed for outdoor use only. We do not recommend mounting in a van because proper ventilation for the engine and burner are required.

    3. The book that comes with it does say that you can not hook it directly up to a tank. You would need a pump to supply I think it was a minimum of 6GPM.

For both commercial and residential applications, it has a 2 year warranty (when following the proper/necessary maintenance as outlined in the owner's manual) on the pressure washer and a 3 year warranty on the Honda engine.

  7. What is the highest temperature this machine can maintain all day using cold water?

    I have heard these machines can not maintain a 250 degree temperature using cold water. is this true?

    1. It maintained the 250 degree temerature for the 2-1/2 hours of use I witnessed.

    2. The maximum inlet water temperature that the NorthStar Pressure Washer will accept is 140 degree water. The burner will heat the water to a maximum of 250 degrees.

  8. what is the best fuel to use with the heater? or what is the difference between the fuel types?

    1. I am a HVAC professional that works on oil furnaces that run the same burner this washer uses and you will get much better service out of kerosene then the other fuels. It is more refined and will keep things cleaner and not require as much servicing.

    2. This wet steam and pressure washer features a heater/steamer that can be run off diesel, kerosene, or #1/#2 fuel oil. All these fuel types will give the same results(run time, etc.); one fuel type doesn't outperform the others.

    1. Yes, you don't need the hot water heater on.

  10. On this pressure washer where do the chemicals get injected and do you have any pictures of the connections

    1. It comes with chemical injector that goes inline on the output side of the line right as the line comes out of the water heater.

    2. The NorthStar Pressure Washer is equipped with a chemical injector which will siphon the chemicals into a low-pressure washer spray downstream of the pump. A picture of the connections for the chemical injector are shown on page 24 of the product manual shown on our website.
