The NorthStar 3.7 HP, 60-Gallon Electric Air Compressor is built with a heavy-duty 230V induction motor for maximum performance and efficiency. 1-piece cast iron oil-lubricated pump with durable Swedish stainless steel reed valves delivers long service life. Its 2-cylinder design offers low heat transfer between cylinders. Large 60-gallon ASME air tank provides more air for longer run times on air tools. This compressor is made for mechanical shops, livestock operations and service truck applications, with heavy-duty components built to last under the most demanding conditions.   8. How is pump life measured? it measured when the pump is actually putting air into the tank or when you are actually using the compressor? 1500 hour pump life doesn’t seem like a lot.

    1. Run time is anytime the pump is running, both when in use and when filling the tank.
