The compressor is a 70/30 duty cycle. If your workload is over 50-60 percent duty cycle it is recommended that you engage the continuous run feature to eliminate the start and stop arching and wear and tear on the magnetic contacts in the motor. They are arching as the motor starts and stops. For normal work loads, you may turn off the continuous feature and the unit will go back to the automatic start/stop operation.
