  1. Air Flow Direction

    Is this marked as having left to right air flow direction when looking at the guage side? If so, can the guage and bracket be moved to the other side to reverse the direction?

    1. The flow can be switch by simply switching the gauge and the backing plate to opposite sides. I followed the directions in the box the first time and works like a charm

    2. Yes it can, the gauge is easy to swap from side to side, just don't lose the O-rings, and the bracket is under a large nut, so you can loosen it and move the bracket. Had to do that for our installation.

    4. This Rapid/Air Filter Regulator does come with it's air flow from left to right. The instructions are included to reverse this direction if needed.

    5. Yes it is marked for air flow from left to right. The instructions are included to reverse this direction if needed. Our layout required it to be reversed. It was easy and it took less than 2 minutes to reverse the air flow direction.

  2. Is the outlet port also 3/4 inch?

    1. 3/4" inlet and 3/4" outlet. use pipe thread sealant and not pipe thread tape.

    4. Hi Jeff, Yes, the input and output of this regulator are the same size. I used reducer couplings to bring mine down to the 1/4" hose fittings on both sides.

  3. Thread size for inlet/outlet ports

    I purchased your average 3/4 inch copper pipe fitting to install in this regulator. Unfortunately, after about 4 full turns it started to get very snug. It was a bear to remove from unit. Anybody have the exact thread size for this filter/regulator?

    1. Pressure regulators should be placed as close to the tool as possible to avoid any fluctuation in air pressure.

  9. can this unit be used with synthetic comp. oil?, also do you have a 1/2 in inlet filter that comes with a metal bowl instead?

    many brands of filters with poly bowls state to not use it with synthetic comp. oil.

    1. This item is capable of operating with synthetic oil. We also carry a filter regulator that is fitted with a metal bowl. Please see my recommendation below for item 159673.

  10. Can I replace the "embedded pressure gauge" with a larger more accurate gauge? What size and thread is the port?

    1. It is not recommended to remove the pressure gauge that comes with the RapidAir Filter Regulator and by doing so it would void the manufacturers warranty. The RapidAir Filter Regulator features 3/4" NPT ports.
