The Hobart Handler 100 Flux-Core Welder is the perfect welding choice for the novice or personal user to perform light fabrication projects, maintenance and repair, and farm/home applications. This compact welder has a broad output range of 30 to 100 Amps that allows you to weld up to 3/16in. (4.8mm) steel with flux-core wire. Comes ready to weld without shielding gas; no additional kits are required. Includes Hobart's 5/3/1in.dustrial Warranty - Five-year warranty on transformers, stabilizers and main rectifiers; three years on generators, PC boards and drive systems; and one year on guns (MIG, plasma and TIG torches).

    1. This welder cannot weld aluminum.

    2. Not that I know of, there are other options for welding aluminum. Such as a MIG welder spool gun or an AC capable TIG welder.

    1. This welder is just a flux core welder, it would not use any type of gas.

  3. Will this welder run off a Honda 5000 generator

    1. A minimum 3,675 watt surge generator would be recommended for this Hobart Handler 100. A Honda 5000 watt generator will be enough for this welder.

  4. What would the duty cycle be if I ran it on 2/35 on the settings??

    1. The duty cycle would be determined by the size and type of wire you are using. If using .030 14 gauge wire, the duty cycle would be approximately 15 -20% (about 1 1/2 minutes out of 2 minutes).

  5. do you need to use a 4 plug (like the one in some dryers) for wiring this

    1. The welder comes with a 3-prong 115-volt plug. This model operates with 115-volt household current.

    1. This welder can weld up to 3/16" steel in a single pass. Welding 1/4" steel may require multiple passes.

  8. Does this welder allow changing the wire feed liner? Can this welder use .023 flux core wire?

    1. The individual wire feed liner part of the gun assembly is available from the manufacturer directly. This welder is only designed for 0.030 and 0.035 flux cored wire.

    1. This welder has a circuit breaker instead of a fuse. It is located on the back of the welder near where the power cord comes in.
