How can I reduce the distance from the top of the heater to the ceiling?
My flat wood patio ceiling is 11 feet from the ground. If I mount the heater 34" below the ceiling per the owners manual, it would be less than 8 feet above the ground. Can I shield the ceiling from the heat by some approved method. Other brands only have an 18" distance from top to ceiling whereas this model requires 34".

Thank you for your inquiry. The clearances are based on certifications by the CSA. You can use a heat shield on the ceiling, but must comply with the clearances in the owners manual.

This heater requires a minimum of 34" from the top to combustibles (wood, insulation, etc.). You can use a heat shield to reduce this distance. Check with local building/heating codes to comply with heat shield requirements.

Direct venting is not required. It is not vent free because it is not designed to operate in an enclosed room with no ventilation. There must be some ventilation: This can include fans, exhaust fans, wind, and/or natural ventilation (open space like a patio).

Whats min clearance needed from vehicles to avoid paint damage.

I use this for patio heater in California. It is not directly exposed to rain but to humidity and dew in morning. We want to cover when not in use. Do you have a cover for this unit to reduce exposure to outdoors??
