    1. Good morning, I work in a VERY small shop and I don’t like the way the control panel “sticks out” on the side. Would it be possible to mount the control box directly to the side and get rid of the protruding “conduit trough”?

      1. Thank you for reaching out with your question. It may be possible to reroute the wires out of the support arm and create a custom placement, but this would involve removing all the wires, threading them through the arm, and then correctly reinstalling them. We are unable to provide assistance with modifying any Grizzly equipment.
        As alternatives, you might consider the G1021Z straight-bladed planer, which has a 32” width instead of 37”, or the G0891 helical cutterhead fixed table planer, which is 25” wide.

    3. Can I replace the power cord with a longer one? Also where I want to put this there is a 50 amp plug if I change the power cord for a longer one can I put a 50 amp plug on it? I need to keep the 50 amp outlet there for another tool.

      1. We appreciate you asking. You can use a longer cord (max 50 feet, but shorter is better), but this machine is not designed to run on a 50 amp circuit. You'll need to have a proper 20 amp circuit for this machine.

    5. Is there any advantage between the spiral vs helical cutter head

    6. I purchased this planer and it is so quiet while running! But the initial start up is kinda loud, almost startling. Is that normal?

    7. Can this run on a 15 amp 230v circuit given that the max motor load is 12 amp?

      1. Thank you for reaching out. The 20A circuit rating is designed to handle the initial inrush of current. In many cases, a 15A circuit would suffice; however, since most electrical panels don't have a 15A breaker available, a 20A breaker is used instead.
