Product Summary

The JET Byrd Shelix Carbide Cutterhead Inserts use a shear cut to produce a superior finish and quieter operation than a straight cut. Shelix cutterhead features spiral staggered knives that are shear cut. Each individual cutter head is sharpened on 4 sides to allow for indexing. If you accidentally plane a nail or staple, all you have to do is replace the 2 or 3 small knives that were affected. It is not necessary to replace knives the full length of your planer head.
