  1. How many amps is 24 KW?

    1. The number of amps produced is dependant on the fuel used, the explaination follows:
      Natural gas is 21Kw, 87.5 amps @ 240v (21,000w divided by 240v equals 87.5A)
      Propane (LP) is 24Kw, 100 amps @ 240v (As Walt99ccim explained "24 Kw is a 100 amp generator. 24Kw =24,000 watts divided by 240 volts = 100 amps" @ 240v).
      The reason for the "@240v" is that residential service is normally 120v + 120v (equalling 240v combined) and each of the 120v sides has either 87.5A or 100A depending on which fuel is available.

    1. You would not need to have your electrical panel upgraded to 200 amps. The 200 amp transfer switch can be used on a 100 amp electrical panel.

    2. No, your home electrical panel needs to be rated for 100 amp service, the switch gear is rated for 200A, but this particular generator is only capable of producing 100A on propane and 87.5A on natural gas, but if you want you can always have your residential service upgraded to 200A.

    1. It is recommended to use 1" gas line when installing the generator with 40-175 feet of gas line. Under 40 feet it will require 3/4" gas line. From 175-550 feet it will require 1.25" gas line.
