This ALC® Portable Abrasive Siphon Blaster holds up to 50 lbs. of abrasives and is perfect for a wide variety of surface preparation jobs such as removing paint, scale, rust and oxidation. Ideal for surface preparation on cars, trucks, machinery, steel, glass etching and much more. Made of durable polymer plastic, this unit will never rust and is easy to maintain. Features a 7ft. siphon blast hose designed for long life and maneuverability. Includes an easy-to-use siphon blast gun with 1/4in. steel nozzle.

  1. What respirator works with the hood?

    Do I need a respirator underneath the hood and if so, which one works best? I just want to be safe.

    1. I use the MSA multi-purpose respirator similar to the unit below and Dewalt safety goggles under the hood just to make sure I am protected.

    2. The hood does not protect your from dust created by the media. It protects you from harm and protects your eyes. If you want to use a mask the #547564 could fit under the hood and offer protection against the dust from sandblasting.

  2. can you use sand in this?

    1. blasting sand only... i use aluminium oxide alot more expensive but you can reuse it, i use it to engrave monuments.,.

    2. The recommended media is; Black Beauty, steel grit and glass beads. Black Beauty is a fine sand.

  6. Would I be able to use Walnut shell with this for Motor/engine internal Carbon deposit removal?

    1. Walnut shell blasting media would be a good choice for cleaning carbon off metal without marring the surface.

  7. Would I be able to use corncob media?

    I am planning to media blast an antique wood door down to bare wood. I plan to use this blaster and corncob media sold here (ALC Ground Corncob Blasting Media — 50-Lb. Bag, Model# 40125). Are the two compatible? Thanks in advance!
