Deep Well Pumps

Water doesn't automatically flow from beneath the Earth's surface and magically appears in your home's faucets as you turn the handle. For those living within city limits, there is no reason to worry about the equipment that makes it happen. But for those living outside city-supplied water, a good pump is an essential accessory. Customers have two basic types: shallow well and deep well. Shallow good pumps are ideal for 25ft. deep or less. But when the water is down deep, a shallow well pump won't cut it. Fortunately, deep well pumps can reach down to 300 feet below the surface to supply water. These pumps are submerged, meaning there is no priming required. Choose between 2-wire or 3-wire models. A 2-wire deep well pump is more affordable but in the event of a technical problem, you need to retrieve the entire pump from hundreds of feet below ground for repairs. A 3-wire pump, on the other hand, features above-ground controls, making maintenance easy. For durability, they are commonly constructed of cast iron and stainless steel. Horsepower and gallons per hour (GPH) are the two most important specs to consider when shopping for deep well pumps. Horsepower can range from ¼ HP to 30 HP and flow rates can exceed 30,000 GPH. Deep well pumps are available with a variety of port sizes and voltage ranges to suit every application. Northern Tool + Equipment offers a wide range of deep well water pumps from leading brands, including Gol Flotec and Wayne.
