  1. Is this generator fuel injected or carbureted?

    1. This Powerhorse Generator has a carburetor fuel system.

    2. Owner's manual (on this site) shows it having a carburetor and also has graphics showing how to drain the float bowl for storage purposes. Exploded view of engine and parts list also show a carb.

  2. Does the Inverter allow for computer and TV connections?

    Are there any specifications for the inverter so that I can determine if sensitive computers can be used when connected to this generator?

    1. The reason I got this inverter is because they advertise the THD to be less than 1.5% which is as good if not better than the power company. You have to be careful about surges with sensitive electronics so surge protection is important. Best to turn on your circuits slowly and dont let the inverter run out of fuel when running. Measuring THD yourself is difficult so this is a trust thing. The generator I am replacing generator produced THD's of less than 24% and was $2400 less expensive but a risk to the furnace and other control boards.

    2. Some electronic equipment such as computers and audio/video equipment can be damaged by the small fluctuations in the flow of power. It is recommended that you use a surge suppressor for any voltage sensitive electronic equipment you will be powering with the generator.

  3. Voltage Selector Position Question

    Does the voltage position selector switch need to be in the 120/240 position to plug into the 50 amp recepticle directly and properly operate a 50 amp camper?

    1. 240 position for it to run the 50 amp plug - the 120 sockets operate normally.

    2. The Voltage selector switch needs to be in the 120V/240V position to use the 30A 4-prong and 50A receptacles. The 30A 3-prong receptacle will need the switch in the 120V position.

  4. Does the 50 amp plug run off a 50 amp breaker or a 30 breaker.

    1. There is a 50 and 30 amp breaker on the inverter. I am installing a 50 amp breaker in the interlocked panel and running a new line and exterior box to upgrade from 30 amp.

  5. Oil Type

    Which 10/30 oil is recommended, Standard or Synthetic?

    1. I have always followed an old rule that dates back to when synthetics came on the market. That is to run standard oil during break-in and then switch to synthetic. But if you are going to be running only 20 minutes a month and then regularly changing every year or at intervals of 50 hours a year save your money and use standard oils. More importantly if using gasoline find non-ethanol and only run that.

    2. This Powerhorse inverter generator would use 10W-30 oil (API Service SE type or higher). This would be a standard oil.

  6. where does the exhaust exit generator?

    1. Exhaust exits low and to the rear of the inverter, opposite the front panel. Both are on the shorter side (26inch) of the inverter

  7. What is the db at the rated load rate of 6500 watts

    1. I havent loaded mine to the maximum but judging the noise level at a light load I would expect a less than 62db at 25 feet.

    1. The fuel consumption is 0.6 GPH at half load (approximately 11 hours) and 0.8 GPH at full load (approximately 8.25 hours).
