    1. The welder will come with an argon/mixed gas regulator.

    2. Traditionally, Argon is used. I don't know of any other gasses that could serve as a substitute.

    Can this welder run of a portable generator ? I have a 8000 watt generator .

    1. Yes, on occasion I use my general 8500 portable generator.

    2. To be able to operate the welder on full output of the 230 input, the welder will need a minimum of an 8500 watt continuous rated generator.

  3. is the output on the hobart 210mvp ac,dc+ or dc-

    1. DCEP, or DCEN depending on how you connect the ground lead, and gun. Inside the wire feed compartment there is easy access to the leads. There is enough lead to connect the wires DCEP, or DCEN. On the back of the door is a chart with which connection, and suggested settings for all the metals you could use. No AC, hope this helps..

  7. Will this work with a double 20 amp breaker? I have a 6-20p outlet that is 20 amp 250v plug in the shop.  I was wondering if I got a 6-20P to 6-50R adapter if it would work?

    1. This is not compatible with a 250 Volt system. This Hobart welder will require a 40 amp circuit breaker for 230 Volt operation.

  8. Will this mig weld stainless steel 1/8" - 1/4"

    1. The welder would need to be run on 220 volt to MIG weld stainless steel. The maximum it would do would be 1/8". To weld up to 1/4" stainless steel you would want to go with the Ironman 240 welder, item #99428.

    1. The welder could not be run on 208 volts, it would need to be wired for 230 volts.
