    5. The motor is thermally protected. The unit is delivered configured for a direct 230V power connection. There is an "auto"/ "off" switch on the side of the pressure switch. Quincy even supplies crimp lugs to connect your 230V input!

  2. How many support feet does this unit have?

    One picture shows the unit having three support feet, the other below shows the unit having four support feet. One of the Q&A answers says it has four feet, but another review states that it has only three.

    1. My QT54 has three support feet on it - two in the front and one in the rear.

    3. The unit has 3 feet. Two in the front, one in the back. Manual states to secure, but not tighten anchor bolts to the floor as you can put the tank in a bind and crack the welds. Good idea. Unit is very stable and doesn't vibrate, so it doesn't take much to secure it anyway.

  3. Amperage requirement

    I see this has 48 amp draw. My house is at 100 amp service. Is this going to be a problem considering other electrical units are drawing power at the same time?

    1. Mine runs at 26A, but the inrush current when full of air is 66A - it draws BIG. Make no mistake!

    2. The motor plate on mine says 21A. I wouldn't think the momentary surge current would be a problem unless you have a ton of other things on at the same time.

    Will we be able to use a phone while this unit is running and recharging the tank?

    1. The compressor is not as loud as an oil free compressor, you can stand comfortably next to it. It is about as loud as a car revving with a bad muffler, or about as loud as a small blower or weed eater.

      It would be difficult to talk on the phone next to this air compressor I would think.

    4. This air compressor has a decibel rating of 75 plus or minus 3 decibels. The sound level would fall somewhere between a normal conversation at 60-65dB and a telephone dial tone at 80dB.

    1. It does not come with a regulator. You have to complete your air delivery system beginning at the compressor air outlet.

      I recommend the Milton 1108. It is a 1/2" regulator that can handle the increased pressure of this air compressor.

    3. No it does not. There are many quality FRL (filter,regulator, lubricators) available for around 150 dollars. I reccomend mounting the FRL someplace easy to access and see then running a high quality rubber or stainless braided line from the tank to the FRL.

    4. This Quincy reciprocating compressor does not come with a regulator. You can find the right regulator for your needs under the air compressor accessories.

  8. Can I use RapidAir regulator with this?

    I want to use the RapidAir Filter Regulator with Gauge — 3/4in. NPT, Model# K93217 with this compressor (and the M7500 RapidAir 3/4" system). Any reason I can't use a 1/2" to 3/4" coupler to make this work?

    1. This compressor is designed to the hard wired into the electrical system. It does not come with any cord or wiring provisions.
