  1. What is the Max. output pressure

    I need 140-150 psi output pressure.

  2. Which side is the air inlet on?

    1. On the left (filter) side.

    2. The air inlet is on the side where it enters into the filter and the outlet is on the side with the regulator.

  3. Does Auto-Drain feature drain tank pressure?

    Does the Auto Drain feature also bleed the tank pressure slowly so that every day the tank will need to be taken from 0-operating pressure? I use my compressor infrequently, but don't want to have to wait 8 minutes for it to come up to pressure every time I want to use it.

    1. Yes, the auto drain only splits out water when the main tank gets below 5 pounds pressure and I only allow this to work once a month. Remember that this drain only collects moisture that you use from the actual hose and 99% of the water collects at the bottom of the pressure tank which is usually only drained at the end of each day by opening a separate drain cock at the bottom of the tank for a second or two. No need to let all the air out, just a pound or two.

  4. Does this have a sight glass?

    I can't quite tell from the pictures but is there a sight glass to let you see the water level in the filter bowl?

  5. Will this product work if it is not in a vertical position?

    1. No, Since the water collects by gravity in the chamber I do not think the unit will work the way you describe. The set up must be mounted as in the pictures.

    2. This Milton air filter portion would need to be in the vertical position to work. The regulator would work in any position.

  6. is this a good choice for using with a HVLP paint gun or will i need a different type of water separator?

    1. To be safe I used another moisture filter as well. I found this catches some but not all moisture, it saves filters.

    2. This air filter regulator with metal bowl can be used with an HVLP paint gun and should do a good job of keeping the water out.

  7. What does the automatic overnight drain do?

    What does the automatic overnight drain do? Also, will this product work on a 175 PSI tank?

    1. when the air pressure drops below 5 psi the valve in the bottom opens, and any water drains. when air pressure is again applied the valve closes.

    2. Yes, this regulator will work on a compressor rated for 175 PSI. The automatic overnight drain will remove moisture automatically when the pressure goes below 5 PSI.

    1. Milton sells a bracket for this regulator but Northern Tool does not sell it. This unit is heavy and needs to be brackets to the wall in some fashion.
