We do not offer any larger surrounds, so if your opening is larger than the surround you will have a gap.

The fireplace could not be installed in a fireplace that has a wider or higher opening than the surround. The surround measures 31" H x 44" W.

When installing the insert in an existing larger masonry fireplace with a concrete chimney, do you need to add sections of flue pipe to the unit to extend the flue gasses up the chimney or do you just install the insert with no added flue pipe?

A 6 inch diameter flexible vent kit is required, this must be run the entire height of the chimney for proper venting.

You need to use a 6 inch stainless flue liner and run it up the length of your chimney. Kits come with liner, appliance connector, flue cap and cap.
