The Drolet Escape 1500 Wood Stove Insert is a high-performance unit that will bring new life to your old masonry fireplace while warming up the interior of your home. Equipped with a secondary combustion system, this mid-sized unit delivers up to 65,000 BTU/h with a very low-carbon footprint -- only 1.26 g/h! A 29in.x 44in. black faceplate and a premium blower are included with the unit. A fresh air intake kit and a rigid firescreen are available (not included).

    1. A grate is not required for this wood stove insert.

    1. The wood insert could not be used as a free standing wood stove.

  3. how is it vented ? do you have to run a pipe up the original chimmeny ?

    1. The insert will require a chimney liner rigid or flexible for best performance. To ensure an optimal draft, it is also recommended a minimum of 12" rigid liner between the top of the masonry chimney and the rain cap. Installation instructions are included with the insert. Please follow all local codes and ordinances for installation.

    1. The fresh air intake kit may be installed on the right or left end side of the stove. The unused side must be covered by the plate provided.

    1. The height is 21 1/4", the depth is 22 3/8" and the width is 27 1/4".
