This Xchanger reversible basement dual-fan unit automatically ventilates your basement, garage or vacation home to affordably eliminate musty odors and reduce humidity. Position one fan in each direction to function as a balanced air exchange, or position both fans in the same direction to exhaust stale air from basement. Includes adjustable dehumidistat with two switched electrical outlets. Galvanized steel housing requires 12 1/4in. x 5 1/4in. rough-in through outside wall. Uses 40 watts power. Includes off-cycle dampers to restrict unwanted airflow.

    The spec 180 cfm; is this per fan or the total air moved by both fans running at the same time?

    1. Each fan is 90 cfm. Both together are 180 cfm

    1. The item may be mounted anywhere in the house as long as it will not be directed at occupants or discharge intake on water pipes or other equipment.

  4. Can this unit be mounted through a cinderblock wall?  If so, is there anything extra needed?

    1. The ventilator is intended to be mounted in the rim joists of the structure on top of the foundation wall.. If you need to create a cavity to install it in, you would need to frame it it.

    1. This ventilator can be used in a chicken coop application to remove the ammonia odor and cool the coop. The ventilator's fans can both be set up for intake/exhaust or one can be set up for intake and the other for exhaust.

    1. The unit is primarily for unfinished damp, musty and smelly basements but it could be used in a finished basement as well if needed.

  7. Can I hard wire this unit?

    1. This unit comes with two fans which plug directly into the adjustable dehumidistat with two switched electrical outlets designed for the fans. It is possible that you could hardwire the the dehumidistat although this is not how the unit is designed to be powered so it would require a licensed electrician to attempt such a hook-up.

    the crawl space fan gave sq. ft. this did not. I didn't know if one was ample
