I have a similar unit installed and manage it with HomeAssistant. One temp/humidity sensor (zigbee) crawlspace and one on the deck for outside. Using a smart plug, and HomeAssistant, I have an automation that says if the humidity is higher in the crawlspace than it is outside, turn on fan, I . Once the two are the same it cuts off. .It only runs if outside temp is over 35. and outside humidity is greater than 40, but not greater than 60 With homeAssistant you can write the automation to do whatever you want. I try to keep the humitity between 40 and 60 percent, when possible. it's not going to prevent occasional excessive humidity, but reduces the time the humidity is outside the norms, I had a dehumidifier and it seemed like more trouble/power than it was worth. No matter what, humidity will enter the crawlspace.
