  1. can this be used in a garage?

    how much ventilation dose it need can this be used in a garage?

    1. This heater was designed and approved to outdoor use only. Do not used inside building, garage or any other enclose area because of air obstruction. This heater need fresh air ventilation to run properly. This heater has an Oxygen Depletion Sensing (ODS) safety shutoff system. The ODS shut down the heater if not enough fresh air is available. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    2. Outdoor use only. Garage would probably be okay with door open for air circulation.

    3. This heater is not meant for indoor use. It is recommended for outdoor use only. Some exceptions include highly ventilated areas such as screened porches or garages with the garage door open.

    Some of this type heater is very noisy.

    Does the top of the heater become hot or does the heat dissipate from the body of the heater.

      "The top of the Thermablaster Heater will only be warm on the front part from the knobs on top to the edge towards the element. The back part will be cool"

    1. Yes, only Outdoor use only. Never use this heater in an enclosed space such as a camper, tent or home. Also, do not use in windy condition.

  6. is the 8 hr runtime for 20 lbs or 1 lb of propane?

    1. 20 lbs at full heat. There are two heat settings which will likely allow for longer use if not always on high. I've used it a lot and haven't run out yet.

  7. Is there something that can be done to speed up the thermo coupler?

    When it is cold, it takes a very long time for the thermo coupler to get warm enough in order for the pilot light to stay lit. Is there anything that can be done or added that will shorten the time it takes?

    1. The manufacturer states that it can take 5-30 seconds for the pilot to stay lit without the control knob pressed in. There is not anything that can be added to the heater to lessen this time, and we do not recommend any changes to the product since this may affect overall function and warranty. If your pilot light is not staying lit after 30 seconds please refer to your owners manual and/or contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting.
