Product Summary

The SunStar Heating Products Ceramic Heater is ideal for spot heating or area heating of remote locations, farm buildings, shops, service areas, pump houses or other hard-to-heat spaces, providing both fuel efficiency of radiant heat and installation flexibility (not recommended for windy/drafty environments). This is a Millivolt Standing Pilot heater and does not require an external power or electricity to operate, so it's great for use during power outages. Requires a 750 Millivolt Thermostat to operate (sold separately). Indoor use only. May require the following second stage regulators prior to the heater based on gas supply pressure: A regulator up to 2 PSIG line pressure or a regulator above 2 PSIG line pressure (both sold separately). NOT CERTIFIED OR APPROVED FOR RESIDENTIAL USE. U.S.A.

NOTE: Please review the detailed Installation Operating Instructions (attached) for other specific installation requirements (gas pressure, ventilation etc.) prior to purchasing the heater.

  • The minimum supply gas pressure is 11.0in. Water Column (WC) and the maximum supply pressure is 14in. WC gas pressure
  • If higher gas pressure is supplied, you will need to install a line pressure regulator (sold separately) to reduce it to less than 14in. WC (or 1/2 PSIG)
  • Supply pressure of 11in. WC is critical and supply pressure less than 11in. WC can affect the operation of the pilot/heater
  • The standing pilot flame can be affected in windy/drafted areas and not recommended in these environments
  • No assembly required
  • Heaters are 100% test-fired prior to shipment
  • CSA design certified

  1. Do you have to depress pilot knob to light or can it be controlled completely by thermostate to light and control?

    1. It is preferred to use the pilot knob and igniter to light it with. It can be lit manually, if needed.

    1. The heater has a standing pilot ignition system that will keep a constant pilot flame.

  3. If the heater is recommended for minimum height of 14' and needs 36" clearance to the ceiling does that mean one needs a 17' ceiling to use this heater properly? Or is the ceiling height of 14' ok being that the heater would be mounted at 11'?

    1. The clearance needed from the ceiling to the top of the heater is 36". The clearance below the heater would need to be 72". With the reflector extension it would need to be 126".

  4. Would this adequately heat my garage which is 28' X 22' .. My ceiling is 10'8" would that create an issue for the installation

    1. It is not recommended to be used in a garage with a ceiling height less than 14 feet.
