  1. Can pump gasoline with this pump

    1. Thius pump cannot be used with gasoline. Please view item #360565 and item #57127 for gasoline compatible fuel pumps.

    2. No , it's a diesel pump, gasoline would be better pumped with something that is not electrical or something that is intrinsically safe as gasoline is very flamable

  2. Fluids it can pump without internal damage

    Can this pump, pump just water? I know some require the oil in diesel fuels for lube, but does the manual say no water?

    1. This diesel fuel transfer pump cannot be used to pump water. Please view item #108560 for a water transfer pump.

    2. Water is not listed , it is made of cast iron that would rust if used with water. There are cheaper pumps available to use with water.

  4. What is used to reduce the 1" outlet to 3/4" hose?

    1. a bushing or a bell reducer

    2. This Roughneck Cast Iron Diesel Fuel Transfer Pump must have a 1" suction hose. The outlet can be reduced down to a minimum of 3/4". To reduce the outlet from 1" to 3/4" you would require a reducer or coupler with the correct size specifications.

    1. NO ! it is not a Trash pump
      it is a fluid pump only

  6. Can this be used to pump waste oil?

    What is the maximum viscosity it can pump and at what temperature?

    1. I use mine for waste oil, thousands of gallons have been pumped with it. On a cold 30' day it will pump it, it will be slow & it won't like it very well, That is if the oil is cold
      If I am pumping fuel oil on a cold day it's fine

    2. This pump can handle waste oil if the viscosity of the oil is 2 to 5 cSt at a max temperature of 98.6 degrees F or 37 degrees C.

    Will this pump work pumping stored rainwater out of a 320 gallon IBC Tote for use in garden and greenhouse?

    You can not tell in the picture if the pumo comes prewired with a male grounded plug?
