This RDS Fuel Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo with 8 GPM Pump is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Tank can also be used as an auxiliary fuel tank using diesel fuel only. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. A 12V transfer pump is included and installed. A toolbox is also built in for extra storage. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. This tank can also be used as a diesel auxiliary tank when used in conjunction with the optional Diesel Install Kit (sold separately). It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents.

  1. What is the 3/8 brass hose fitting

    Just recieved myRDS Fuel Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo with 8 GPM Pump - 91-Gal. Capacity, Model# 72855
    What is the purpose of the 3/8 brass hose fitting; located beside the filler neck ? Can fuel slosh out of it ? Is it necessary ?

    1. We have the 48 gal model. That is a fuel return line connection or can be used as a vent. We are using it as a vent line. Yes, fuel can slosh out of it.

    2. This RDS Fuel Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo with 8 GPM Pump has a total of 6 openings. It features a 3/8" drain opening, a 1 1/2" fill opening, a 3/8" vent opening, a 3/8" feed tube opening, a 1 3/4" sending unit opening, and a 2" pump opening. The 3/8" brass hose fitting is the vent opening which is a roll over safety valve.

  2. Does the overall length include the mounting brackets and if not, how much do they add to the length? Also where exactly are the brackets located (dimensions please) as my 2011 F350 has an upturn in the bed where the factory fuel inlet resides.

    1. This tank fit perfectly into my 2014 Ford F360 Dually. The tabs were as shown and are approximately 1 inch by 3 inch and are NOT included in the overall length.

    2. The brackets add an extra 1" to the overall dimensions. Length would be 57" with the brackets. They are also 2" wide and 3/16" thick. One bracket in each of the rear corners and one bracket centered in the front.

    1. This combo tank does not include a filter. At this time, there is no filter that can be added to this pump.

    1. The tool box dimension is 44'' long, 30'' wide, and 10'' high. The overall dimensions are 55'' long, 30'' wide, and 23-1/4'' high.

  5. Can this tank be mounted without drilling holes in the bed? Straps? or other mounting options?

    1. The tank is designed to be mounted directly to the truck bed with the mounting tabs only.

    1. The fuel tank is made from 1/8" heavy duty aluminum.

  7. how long are the pump electrical wires? Do they go straight to the battery?

    1. The length of the electrical cables will be 20 feet. The pump is designed to be wired direct to the battery. You may connect the cables to the panel switch in the vehicle with a cut off switch.
