Product Summary

Aluminum RDS Fuel Transfer Tank/Toolbox Combo is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. A toolbox is also built in for extra storage. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents.

  1. Is this DOT approved?

    1. The tank appears to be DOT approved. My understanding is that with these tanks, you can use gravity feed (I do) provided that you are using diesel fuel. This is not permitted with unleaded fuel.

    1. The drain opening could not be enlarged to 3/4" NPT.

  3. Does this tank come with a data plate and a combustible 3 label?

    1. The tank comes with a label with all the tank information and DOT approval number. The tank does not come with a combustible 3 label. That would need to added by you, if you want one. The tank is DOT approved for diesel and gasoline.

    1. The aluminum on this unit comes from the manufacturer shiny but will dull over time as it is exposed to outside elements.

  8. Dimensions

    Are the tool boxes listed dimensions for out side or inside measurement? If they are not for the inside, where could I find those number? Also, the tank and tool box look like they are 48inches long, but the overall is 50. What makes the over all 50? Wondering if its just mounting brackets or something else I can not see.

    1. The measurements are outside of the fuel tank toolbox combo. The inside dimensions would be 3/8" less than the outside. The 50" overall measurement is with the mounting tabs at the bottom of the tank.
