Product Summary

This RDS Rectangular Transfer Fuel Tank is designed for transferring diesel fuel, gasoline or aviation fuel from the bed of a pickup to automobiles, heavy equipment, boats, 4-wheelers, generators, or anything else requiring fuel that you may have. Enjoy the convenience of a gas station that goes where you go. DOT approved aluminum fuel tanks do not rust, which protects fuel from contamination. The tank can also be used as an auxiliary unit to provide additional capacity for a diesel factory tank with the use of an RDS diesel install kit (Item#s 3490901, 3490902 and 43748, sold separately). Diesel install kits will work with any RDS tank with a drain fitting. Auxiliary tank function is for use with diesel fuel only and is not for use with gasoline, which cannot be gravity-fed. It is the user's responsibility to comply with local, state and federal requirements pertaining to safe transportation, loading and discharging tank contents. Note: This smooth mil finished tank may have some scratch marks, which is normal and unavoidable with this finish type.

    1. The tank does not come with a fuel gauge. The part number RDS01856 for a fuel gauge would be available through our sister company, Jacks Small Engines. Please visit www.jackssmallengines.com for price and availability.

  2. Can you use a electric 12v small fuel pump on the fitting at the top of the tank that has that 5/16" nipple cause DOT says you can't gravity feed fuel it has to come out above fill port ?

    1. The tank will come with a 2 inch female pipe thread coupling to attach a manual or 12 volt transfer pump. There is a 3/8" coupling to run a line from the tank to the factory tank on the pick up.

  3. What are the 3 small ports on the top left rear used for ?

    1. The tank will come with a 2" female pipe thread coupling for a pump. A 3/8" coupling for the pickup. And a 1/4" and 3/8" coupling for the return. The tank will also include a roll over valve for venting.

  4. Do these tanks come with a fuel gauge? if not, can one be ordered sepratley that will drop in the auxilary port?

    1. This tank does not come with a fuel gauge. A fuel gauge that will mount onto the side of the tank is available through our parts department. The part number is RDS01856. The fuel gauge doesn't appear on our website. Please call our parts department at 1-800-657-0516 for price and availability.

    1. The overall length including mounting tabs is 52 inches, each tab is 1 inch wide.

    1. To the top of the fill cap, it measures 22 inches in height.
