I had a 2" conduit with long sweep elbows and the 3/4 inch tubing went through without any problem. I would imagine if you had long sweep elbows it would be fine.

Professional Air System For Your Workshop
Easy Installation
The RapidAir 3/4in. MaxLine compressed air piping system allows you to design and install your own personalized air system any way you want. MaxLine uses a double O-ring compression system that is virtually leakproof. The aluminum core allows the tubing to be bent by hand and shaped around corners or in awkward spaces without losing its shape. MaxLine can be mounted on the surface of a wall or behind the wall. It can also be buried underground or in concrete. No expensive tools are required.
Ultimate Flexibility
You can purchase additional fittings to customize your RapidAir MaxLine installation, based on your space and compressed air requirements. It is easy to add and change air drops as needed, since the fitting compression system can be easily disassembled and reused. The system is rated for up to 170 PSI at 70°F and 140 PSI at 140°F, which is well within the working range of most air tools. The RapidAir MaxLine Master Kit is an ideal solution for garages, workshops, barns or industrial buildings less than 4000 square feet, serving several air users.
Superior Performance and Support
Long-Term Durability
The RapidAir MaxLine tubing and fittings are not prone to rust and corrosion and will provide years of reliable service. Metal fittings are nickel-plated brass to resist corrosion. The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) tubing with aluminum core stays flexible and will not become brittle or lose strength over time. MaxLine meets OSHA requirements. Smooth interior walls will never build up rust or scale. You can count on a MaxLine system for years to come.
Dependable Warranty
The RapidAir MaxLine Master Kit comes with a 1-year limited warranty to give you extra peace of mind. System components are guaranteed against defects resulting from faulty workmanship or materials for one year from the time of purchase.
Guaranteed Satisfaction
Shop in complete confidence, knowing Northern Tool + Equipment protects your investment and is ready to provide you with the assistance and helpful resources you need.

Can you run this inside conduit?
I have a 40' underground 1 1/2" conduit with two 90 degree bends between my shop and my house. It is standard schedule 40 conduit with 90s that are a gradual bend. Do you think I can snake this pipe through that conduit? Thanks very much.

If you use a pull line and feed that through the conduit and then pull the pipe you will have better luck. They make quite a few tools to hold things that are being pulled and as already said use some wire lube. 2 90º sweeps will have a lot of friction to deal with. How ever you look at it you will be pulling a something that will feel like a heavy gauge cable.

You should be able to use this inside your conduit. My only concern is at the 90's bend. The 3/4" will only bend at a maximum of a 6" deflection. The piping is also very stiff and I don't know how easy it would be to push it through the 90's.. Good luck. It is a good system though.

No need to run in conduit if the mounts provided are used above ground. Underground you may need to use sone wire lube to make the turns. Do not force the tubing as it might kink and then not make air tight seals.

If the 90 degree bends that you have are "sweep" 90's it is possible to snake this pipe through the conduit. However if your 90 degree bends are "sharp" 90's it can not be done.

Maxline Master kit for in wall mounting?
It appears the Maxline Master kit is for surface wall mounting only is that correct? This is the kit I am interested in but I want to have in run inside the wall of my shop. Watching the video it only shows mounting it on the surface.
-
GettinMyShop· 9 years ago
Actually works well through wall too. there are several ports you can use so mounting has many options.

can you undo the fittings after tightening
-
Rwood727· 8 years ago
You can undo the fittings. Best to trim pipe end and chanfer again before installation. I would also check o-rings. Kit came with spares.

-
Dt720· 9 years ago
Yes, you can. I used a light coating of silicone on the o-rings.

ProductExpert30· 9 years ago
You can undo the fittings but the tubing would need to be cut off. You would not be able to reuse the tubing once it has been tightened in the fitting.

Can this be connected directly to a air compressure?
I have air compressure on the outside of the wall and run this through the wall to the inside of the garage?

Yes, but you will need to adapt fittings. The kit coms with a 3/4 MPT fitting, but likely you will need to adapt to that. Also you need to make sure you regulate the pressure to below the expected max pressure given the temperature. RapidAir says their max pressure for this is... Operating working pressure 200 psi @73°F, 160psi @140°F

This Rapid Air kit has a 3/4 male fitting to connect directly to an Air Compressor. A shut off vale would be recommended at the Air Compressor connection.

Coupler size?
What size threads are in the outlet for the coupler? 3/4 1/2 Since it does not come with couplers, just need to find some elsewhere? We are wanting the max line kit 3/4 inch.
-
ShepherdAP· 10 years ago
You will need 1/2" npt male to 1/4" female or male fittings that you can buy at most hardware stores. This way you can use standard 1/4" couplers.

They are half inch if I recall and I got a reducer and G type coupler at Napa with 3/8 female threads. Works great.

Does this system require a 3/4 inch regulator?
-
jbman45· 10 years ago
you need to simply use reducers for 1/2 inch regulators and filters, but if buying one new, get the larger one for better air supply
Helpful?
-
Obie61· 11 years ago
No, it does not require a 3/4" regulator. The regulator should be sized for your air flow demand. The tubing connections in this kit are 3/4" NPT. The drops in this kit have a 3/4" NPT connection for the fitting to the tubing and three 1/2" NPT connections (back for through-wall connection, bottom and front). You can purchase different drop configurations separately.

What regular hose fittings are supported?
In your wall outlets where one would plug in a regular airhose, what fittings, ie NPT, etc are supported? How does one specify what fittings/couplers I need to fit my existing air hoses into?
-
ShepherdAP· 10 years ago
The outlet size is 1/2" npt. You can purchase adaptor fittings at most hardware stores to work with you existing couplers and hoses.

The reviews contain many comments about how hard it is to straighten this hose. Do you have a recommendation on how to do it?
Also, one of the videos mentions a straightening tool, what is the part number?
-
JeffPTexas· 7 years ago
I do not know about a tool but I can tell you that I did it by hand and it was not a problem. Just use small movements and gentle pressure and it straightens very nidely.

Slowly unfurling the line while one person or heavy weighted object holds down the end to straighten.
The straightening tool is best and is a model M8097 direct from the manufacturer.Helpful?

Adapting to other lines/fittings?
I would need to add a water trap at the bottom of my drop, how would I plumb that in to the Maxline?
-
Narly· 6 years ago
The fitting you attach to the system for your coupling will have and extra port, and valve, to allow you to drain moisture at each of your connection points. I do recommend putting a water separator/regulator where you attach to your compressor.

A Tee fitting can be added with a hose coming out to a drain or reservoir. We also offer a Filter-Regulator combo that could be used to separate the water from the line. I have included links to the Tee fitting (item 20926) and the Filter-regulator combo (item 37580) below.

have a quincy 5HP two-stage 60 gallon vertical tank 15.2 acfm at 175 psig 1/2 inch. my question is should I buy the 3/4 inch system and use a
reducer to 1/2 or should I just go with the 1/2 inch kit. will I gain pressure with the 3/4 inch system?
-
JeffPTexas· 7 years ago
You won't gain pressure but you will gain volume. If you plan to use this system for general air tools and filling tires, 1/2" is probably fine. However if you ever think you may want to use it for a paint gun or any other high-volume tool, I would definietly go with the 3/4" kit. (For the relatively small price difference I went with 3/4" even though I will probably never use a paint gun.)

Going with a 3/4 inch hose for your compressor with increase air flow while decreasing pressure. Many factors such as the type and number of tools you will using on the system to recommend which is better for your needs, the 1/2 inch or the 3/4 inch system.
